Barre Definitions Classes:
Set to fun and energetic music, each class incorporates an upper body workout with weights and a combination of high-intensity sequences of thigh, seat and core exercises at the barre. We always include a releasing stretch after we work a muscle group, which results in stronger and more elongated muscles while gaining flexibility. Each class is designed for you to feel invigorated, challenged, and inspired. Our knowledgeable and attentive instructors will guide you through the class to encourage and motivate you in a safe and supportive environment.
Open level: Our signature barre class open to all levels. However, if you are new to the method, for your safety and for the consideration of other experienced clients, we strongly advise that you take a basic barre class before you sign up for an open level class.
Basic Barre: Our introduction to barre class. We highly recommend new students to take this class before going to the open level class so that you become familiar with the method, the terminology, and the positioning. A better understanding of this method provides a more effective workout while preventing injuries. This is also a great class to take for our experienced clients who want to brush up on their form or those who seek a slower paced class.
Mat Barre: This is our unique barre class that is based on the principles of mat Pilates. The class combines all the benefits of barre and Pilates, providing an invigorating total body workout while focusing and strengthening the core muscles. This is an open level class.
Power Barre: Barre Definition’s version of boot camp. This class offers high intensity body sculpting exercises with more weights and resistance bands for the ultimate muscle challenge. Be prepared to feel the burn in every part of your body! Due to the pace and intensity of this class, it is not suitable for our pregnant clients.
Cardio & Barre: All the benefits of a barre workout with intense cardio bursts! For those who want the benefits or cardio, this class will get your heartrate up, while intensifying fat burn and building lean muscle mass. Due to the pace and intensity of this class, it is not recommended for our pregnant clients.
Power Vinyasa Yoga: This is a power vinyasa yoga class based on the Ashtanga practice. The practice becomes a flow timed to the breath instead of just a series of yoga poses. The vinyasa gives rhythm to the practice, keeps the heat building, builds upper body strength and acts as a counterpose to stretch the legs and re-set the spine to neutral for the next sequence. You'll develop strength, endurance and mental focus. All levels are welcome.
Rocket-Power Vinyasa Yoga: This 75 minute class is open for all levels. Whether you are new to yoga or need to fire up your practice the Rocket will get you there! This is the original power vinyasa class and an Ashtanga based practice. You will heat and purify your own body through your breath. Transitions between poses are synchronized with the breath and poses are typically held between 5-8 breaths. Improve strength, flexibility, balance and breath control while simultaneously releasing tension, stress & toxins.
Candlelight Yoga: This restorative yoga practice helps to heal and detoxify the body while recharging the mind and spirit. With a focus on intuition and mind-body awareness, you will be led through guided, intentional breathing and a gentle yet exhilarating sequence of postures designed to relieve tension and stress. Lit only by candlelight, this meditative Vinyasa flow will leave you feeling grounded and energized. Everyone from beginner to advanced is welcome. A perfect way to conclude your day.
Ballet Balance: Created by Angela Vennes, Ballet Balance is a fusion of traditional ballet movements and targeted muscle toning progressions. Using resistance bands, you challenge your body with controlled movements, while the ballet exercises create the long, lean muscles dancers are well-known for. It will help you develop muscle awareness and improve your posture. This is not a traditional ballet class so all levels are welcome and you do not need any dance experience to enjoy the benefits of ballet!
COMING SOON! THE DEFINITIONS WORKOUT! Designed by Nami Oneda, The Definitions Workout will offer a high intensity, total body workout that will increase lean muscle mass, strength, and flexibility, sculpting your body to new heights!
Barre Definitons Pilates Program:
Pilates Reformer: A group class that utilizes the classic Pilates Reformer to challenge your core with movement coordination. The Reformer utilizes both the upper and lower body to condition and strengthen your muscles. All clients must take an Intro to Reformer class or a private session prior to this class. Open to all levels.
Cardio Reformer: Our Pilates reformer class with the benefits of cardio. Using a jumpboard that is attached at the foot-end of the reformer, we add cardio exercises to increase your heart rate and burn fat. Clients must have taken 5 Reformer classes before signing up for this class.
Intro to Reformer: An introduction to the Pilates reformer. All clients are required to take this class if they are new to this equipment. This class takes you through the flow of a regular Reformer class while showing you how the apparatus works and what terminology you need to be familiar with.
Pilates Chair: The Pilates Chair was originally designed by Joseph Pilates as a compact workout system for the home. It challenges both the upper and lower body, and enhances stability, balance, and body control. Our added resistance bands provide more intensity, conditioning, and core engagement. The chair is only available for semi-private or private sessions.
*We have 6 Pilates Reformers available for our group class. We utilize Balanced Body™ Allegro® 14” Reformers. Our Pilates Chairs are Balanced Body™ EXO® Split Pedal Chairs, which are only offered for semi-private and private sessions.
